Superpower health review: the verdict

Superpower is the closest rival to Function Health and slightly cheaper: $349 a year for 150+ biomarkers across two blood draws at Quest, which works out to about $2.33 per biomarker. On top of the labs you get a care team you can message at any time, an AI assistant, wearable syncing, and access to add-on tests, supplements and prescriptions.

The weak points: you still need a venous draw at a lab (a home draw costs extra), members complain about slow support and billing after cancellation, and Function has sued Superpower claiming its biomarker counts are inflated. We score Superpower 7.8 out of 10, just behind Function Health's 8.3.

Superpower price and what is included

Many reviews still quote Superpower at $199 a year. That was the old single-draw price. The current $349 includes a second draw. Our blood test cost guide keeps these prices up to date.

At $349 for two draws, each draw costs about $175, a little less than Function's $182.50. If you test once a year only, the old single-draw price was better value; that option is no longer on Superpower's pricing page. Payment with pre-tax HSA or FSA funds lowers the effective price by your tax rate, so about $272 at a 22% federal bracket.

Superpower bills annually and says you can cancel any time with no fees, but several Trustpilot reviewers describe charges after cancelling. Keep the cancellation confirmation email.

On cost per biomarker Superpower sits just behind Function, and both are roughly half the per-marker price of the at-home services. The gap closes when you count only the markers you would act on, and it reverses if you need more than two tests a year, since each extra Superpower panel is a paid add-on.

What Superpower tests

Superpower's pricing page groups its markers into heart and metabolic (41), hormones and thyroid (19), cancer and other risks (10), energy (6), DNA health (7) and aging (3), plus blood counts and more. Its biomarker page lists ApoB, Lp(a), hs-CRP, homocysteine, heavy metals, PSA, vitamin D, B12 and folate among others. That is a broad, modern prevention panel, roughly comparable with Function's.

As with Function, the headline count includes calculated ratios. Function's lawsuit alleges Superpower runs about 55 direct lab measurements; Superpower had not answered the complaint as of March 2026, and nothing has been proven.

How Superpower works

1. Join online and book a draw at a Quest center, or pay for a home visit where offered.
2. Fast as instructed and give a venous blood sample (baseline panel).
3. Results arrive in about a week, with an AI summary and a personalized protocol in the app; message the care team with questions.
4. Retest months later on a smaller panel to track changes.

Superpower was founded in 2023 in Los Angeles by Jacob Peters, Max Marchione and Kevin Unkrich, and raised a $30 million Series A led by Forerunner in 2024.

Superpower reviews and complaints

On September 29, 2026 Superpower had a 4.5 out of 5 rating from 361 Trustpilot reviews: 86% five-star and 9% one-star. The one-star share is higher than Function's 6% and SiPhox's 8%.

• Praise: detailed AI insights, easy sign-up and draw, quick results, and the ability to import past lab results.
• Complaints: slow support ("text messaging can take 3 days"), billing problems after cancelling, and the app recommending paid panels that duplicated tests already done. Independent coverage also cites a lost sample and an email sent to the wrong person.

An independent reviewer also notes a built-in conflict: Superpower sells supplements and prescriptions through the same app that interprets your results. Keep that in mind when it recommends a product.

Superpower's review base is small: 361 reviews against about 2,990 for Function and 2,984 for Rythm. A small base moves quickly, so a run of support or billing complaints would show up in the rating faster than it would for Function. Read the newest one-star reviews before you pay, not just the average.

The Function Health lawsuit

On January 26, 2026 Function Health sued Superpower in the US District Court for the Central District of California under the federal Lanham Act and California law. Function alleges that Superpower's "100+ biomarkers" claim overstated direct lab measurements (about 55, per the complaint), that its "24/7" clinical team and "3,000+" location claims were misleading, and that its comparison advertising was inaccurate. These are allegations by a competitor. We found no ruling as of September 29, 2026.

For a healthy adult who wants a broad baseline and does not mind a lab, yes: $349 for two draws is very good value, and the care team is a genuine extra. It is less compelling if you only care about a few markers, since you pay for 150 to track 10, or if you want to retest every quarter, since the membership covers two draws. The disputed biomarker count does not change the value much in practice: even at the roughly 55 direct measurements Function alleges, $349 for two draws is competitive. What would change our view is a court finding on the advertising claims or a price rise; we will update this page if either happens.
